ix meters each machine per second and bills the cpu, memory, and disk it used in that second. there is no instance size: nothing is reserved, so idle capacity costs nothing.

what bills when

• a running machine bills cpu, memory, and disk. memory bills on what the guest uses. host-side caches on its behalf are free.
• a stopped machine bills only disk: its volume and its snapshots.
• a removed machine bills nothing.

disk is deduplicated across machines: shared bytes are stored once. the live meter on the front page shows the rates: drag the bars and watch the price.

limits

one machine grows to 64 vcpu, 256 GiB of memory, and 1 PiB of storage.

where to look

status shows the balance, pending top-ups, and auto-recharge. usage itemizes what you spent, by resource type. ix billing top-up adds funds through stripe checkout.
